What Happened to Ducky??

27 05 2008

Ducky just decided to fade away into the unknown. The blog was pulled, the photos were pulled. The account wiped clean. Even the email no longer works.

Why??

Did ducky feel like all the work was done in bringing Heidi down??

Did Ducky get cold feet??

We will probably never know why they decided to pack it in. Our many questions will most likely go unanswered.

I may ruffle a few feathers but I’ve got to say my piece here. Many of us have busted our rear ends doing things to further tighten the noose on ol’ Heidi, adding one more nail in the coffin. Does Ducky not realize how much valuable information was lost when they decided to pull the blog. Or do they just not care any more.

I fully understand possible activist burnout. I’ve hit the wall many times over the years in the fight for various causes. But I never just gave up. Deleting the blog was childish in my opinion. If they weren’t interested in the fight anymore it would have been very easy just to leave the blog dormant or pass it on to someone who would use it.

Were they afraid someone may find out their identity??

I say so what.

The fight is long from being over with. The truth STILL needs to be told. Oh yeah….one more thing to say…..

WE AIN’T DONE YET

Let’s Review Important Information

Christin Speaks Out About Advice She Received From Kimmer

2 10 2007

In an attempt to set the record straight, after this mornings accusation that members with health problems can only blame themself, Christin speaks out in her newest post on the matter of calories recommended by Kimmer (Heidi Diaz) when she was following the Kimkins diet. [We have edited out the screenshots from Christin's site]

Written by Christin:

It has recently been suggested that people such as myself abused the Kimkins plan by cutting our calories to unhealthy levels on our own in opposition of the true intent of the plan. I am sorry to say that this is not true.

Tippy said: “I think it was well said previously that Kimkins diet has been abused by some members at their own doings who now point the finger in blame towards us.” This statement is incorrect. This is the way we were instructed to follow the plan “correctly.”

It saddens and sickens me to admit this about myself, but I feel that I must share in order to bring to light proof of the eating disordered behavior that I not only engaged in, but was encouraged in.

February 14, 2007 – I wrote:

“TOPIC: Kimmer, Becky, anyone!! Check my Fitday please – I need help!!!!”

I have been pretty much stalled all month. I’m under a lot of stress here at home w/ my daycare, but I don’t know if that would contribute or not. I’ve been K/E pretty much for the most part w/ a few Kimkins days here and there. Is my body just confused by my mixing it up?? I try to drink 40-80oz of water a day on top of what is here and every now and then I do drink a diet soda, but I get the sodium free splenda sweetened ones. Please help!!!! I have got to get to goal!!!!

EDITED OUT FITDAY SCREENSHOT

Average Calories: 377 Fat: 11g Carbs: 8g Protein: 58g

By all indications medically and scientifically, I was in actuality, starving. I was showing very clear signs of grossly anorexic behavior. However, in my zeal to lose and blind faith in a program that I believed I was utilizing “perfectly” I failed to see the warning signs my own body was giving me.

Kimmer replied:

Your calories are low, protein good, but I have questions about whether quantities are accurate if you’re not using a food scale and some days are missing.

Be sure of measurements. How do you figure .1 cup of salsa? .1 cup of olives? .1 cup of shredded cheese?

Skip all sausage, even turkey, if you’re not losing
Skip bacon
Skip pork roast
Skip pastrami

What are you using to weigh protein like 2 oz, 3 oz? Use specific ounces, not “1 serving”

Measure coffee mug, very few are 8 oz, most are 12-16 oz

Keep veggie limits to 3 cups raw or 2 + .5 cup cooked. How did you measure .75 cup of cooked cabbage?

Egg beaters, 1 cup? That’s quite a bit. Better to have fewer eggs & an extra salad serving or lettuce roll-up.

I have to ask — what’s with all the egg whites? And what do you do with the yolks?

Christin:

Kimmer thank you so much for checking this out for me. In answer to your questions. As far as the .1 cup thing – I couldn’t find an option for a tsp measurement on those and I wanted to have it in there… so that’s my best guess for the amt.

I have a food scale that I use to measure ounces and that’s what I’ve used.

The 1 serving thing… those are individual servings _base_d on the packaging when they don’t give me the ounces. Do I need to measure them anyways? I’m just going by the serving size (ie 1 piece).

I had a feeling about the pork roast thing… my SIL wanted German for her bday and that was the ONLY thing I could find on their menu that was remotely close to plan – that’s where the cabbage was too… (sauerkraut, but fitday doesn’t have that, so I know the sodium was WAY up there that day) The serving they put on the plate was aprox 1 cup. I didn’t eat the whole thing, but I’m pretty sure I ate more that
1/2 cup so that’s why I did the .75. It was an estimate since we were out and I couldn’t measure exactly.

I’ve decided to cut coffee all together for a while to see if that helps pick it up… Pray for me, it’s going to be VERY difficult.

I was doing the EW challenge that’s what all the EW is for… higher protein less fat… forgive me but I throw the yolk out. I’m looking for boxed EW so that it will be a bit easier… But i’m out of pretty much everything so I’m having to make do with what I can till I get to the grocery store.

Thanks for your suggestions, anything else?

Kimmer:

Christin, you did really good at a German restaurant! My family is German and, yikes! Yeah, that meal will mess with your progress because restaurants do things to enhance their food — but it didn’t trigger a binge and you enjoyed family time!

No need to weigh prepackaged stuff, but is anything you could substitute the sausages with? Even diced chicken chunks? I still cook up 2 breasts (various spices), dice into “dice” size squares and keep them in a Gladware bowl in the fridge. I grab a couple whenever I want a quick snack.

If you’re a fish fan, there’s a whole ’sea’ world. Sea World, get it — I’m so funny (not!)

Christin, you’re doing good and you’ve lost soooo much! Keep it up, it will come. Maybe try limiting protein to 3 oz portions, you can always get more if you need/want it.

Or, my sister’s favorite “snack” during her weight loss. The romaine lettuce roll ups. Layout a big leaf, lay 1 slice of Oscar Meyer sliced sandwich ham, either a squirt of mustard or a drizzle of salsa, roll up & eat — 10 calories. (emphasis mine)

Not only were my low calories praised and encouraged, but I was encouraged to cut even more than what I already was consuming on a diet of primarily egg whites which had received full blessing as well. I did not “abuse” the plan.

True that no one forced me to eat this way, or told me that I must follow everything that Kimmer said. But, when you feel as though you’ve been handed the keys to true permanent weight loss, and you are so close to achieving that goal, it is difficult not to be blinded by your own aspirations, especially when receiving such encouragement. I was affirmed that I was doing exactly what I was supposed to be doing.

I used the plan. Plain and simple.

wow dang Kimmershe was telling her to eat even less???

BTW a tsp is 1/3th of a tablespoon which is 1/16th of a cup so it would be 1/48th of a cup or .02083 even less then Christen posted she had eatten.

If you want to loose weight then do it the real way! Go to a dietician, go to your doctor, why would you all be so stupid to even trust some stupid diet. Of course you are all the ones who have tried other fad diets. None of you should be able to blame anyone other than yourself. You are all uneducated idiot consumers. All diet fads are like this, learn to check your sources, and make an appointment with your doctor or a nutritionist. That is how you really loose weight. Go join a gym.

Kimkins is Toxic

26 09 2007

The Kimkins forums can only, at this point in time, be called toxic.

Last night’s display of unbridled rage underscored the growing anger Kimmer (Heidi Diaz) feels as the truth is seeping out for all to see. In what many speculate was a drunken tear by Kimmer, under the guise of a new user name, members were given front row seats to really see how the once supportive forum is damaged beyond repair, how the environment reeks with hate toward anyone speaking the truth, including those members who remain within the site.

Members who paid for membership, who paid for access, who paid for a supportive environment online are finding themselves in the crosshairs; targets to be attacked at any hint they question the plans, the founder or their own experience within the forums. Members asking questions or offering up suggestions for improvement are quickly derided, dismissed and declared unworthy to be among the true believers, told to leave and go elsewhere if they won’t behave and blindly regurgitate the party-line.

When a member asked about calorie limits, Wonderwoman replied,

What limits? What are you talking about? Why not call your doctor if you’re so scared? Or if you’re not doing Kimkins then go away?

My cousin had RouxY gastric reconstruction for obesity and she ate less than anybody here. What’s the danger? What are you afraid of? If you do Weight Watchers with frozen tv dinners you’re healthy? Aren’t they loaded to the gills with carbs? Yeah. Nutritious.

When another member openly suggested a listing of potential health risks and side effects for new members, after reading Deni’s blog entry, her intentions were questioned by admin tarvosK,

I would like to ask the original poster what the purpose of posting this blog entry was? Is there some reason for posting yet more negativity about the plan?

Did this person have success on the plan? It appears so and then they left for whatever reason, as is their right. However I have to wonder about people that involve themselves in something like KK and then when they have gotten the results they wanted, go running off and start bashing it to the rest of the world. It seems to me that there is just something very odd about that, but then I have never been one to really follow the pack that much anyway, so I won’t be running off anywhere to tell people how evil and life threatening this plan is.

Notice tarvosK avoids the issue, potential health risks, and focuses back to fast weight loss as ideal and suggests those who have fled the site and are speaking out have alterior motives, according to him, there is no danger with Kimkins diet plans.

When yet another member dared to suggest posting potential side effects for new members to read and understand, admin Tippytoes stepped to admonish her with,

I am curious since I see you posting the possibility of negativity and doubt across the boards today… What does YOUR Doctor think?

Another member had the audacity to ask about carbohydrate intake after attending a class on nutrition, being told women require 100 grams of carbohydrate each day. Rather than explain gluconeogenesis or point her to articles about meeting glucose requirements while following a low carb diet, she was told by Wonderwoman,

If you’re in danger from not eating carbs, shouldn’t be you at the emergency room? On life support? Or crawling along in weight loss because you really wanted to add carbs and have given yourself permission under a self induced guise? Sign up for the group “yeah I did Kimkins and didn’t lose”.

These examples, and others we could provide, clearly highlight how dysfunctional the site now. Such abuse of members is not only tolerated, but expected; not only from admins, but between member to member.

It is a place where only those emotionally damaged souls really want to stay and want to remain so they can continue to feed on the punishment.

No emotionally healthy person will tolerate such abuse daily, nor willingly continue to remain so they can witness such abuse directed at others. Within Kimkins there is an illness, a sickness so prevalent and contagious, so toxic; an emotional dysfunction so damaging it makes the diet plans look sane.

Investigate for Yourself

18 09 2007

For those being lulled to sleep within the Kimkins website to believe nothing is really happening because of sites like this, wake up!

If you want to continue to believe Kimmer (Heidi Diaz) so be it, but if you want to confirm the veracity of things reported here and elsewhere, here is your chance to do your own fact checking to see for yourself that we’re not simply blowing hot air.

Don’t simply believe us, really, check these things out for yourself.

FACT CHECK OPTION 1: Call or email CASA

Kimmer (Heidi Diaz) claims she “serves” as a CASA. Barbara Hofman is the director of the Riverside CASA Satallite. She is available via email at bhofman@casariversidecounty.org or by phone at (951) 358-4305 and can verify that Kimmer (Heidi Diaz) is not a CASA and has not been for years!

FACT CHECK OPTION 2: Call the Office of the Foster Care Ombudsman

Kimmer (Heidi Diaz) claims she has foster children in her care. For more information on placements and licensing, call the Office of the Foster Care Ombudsman at 1-877-846-1602. They can tell you that at one time Heidi Diaz did serve as a foster parent, but has not in years!

FACT CHECK OPTION 3: Call the FTC

Kimmer (Heidi Diaz) claims nothing has come about from the online petition. We beg to differ and suggest you contact the FTC to verify receipt of the complaint and ask about the status of the ongoing investigation.

FACT CHECK OPTION 4: Call the Postmaster General Fraud Hotline

Mail fraud is serious.

Kimmer (Heidi Diaz) is under investigation for mail fraud.

Don’t believe us, pick up the phone and verify the ongoing investigation!

Hotline telephone number is 1-800-452-8210. You can also e-mail to hotline@cncsoig.gov

FACT CHECK OPTION 5: Call Social Security

It has been learned that Kimmer (Heidi Diaz) collects Social Security Disability and since she’s made millions on her website this year, continuing to collect places her in the category of fraudulent recipt of benefits. The Social Security Administration is investigating. You can verify the open and ongoing investigation by calling Telephone: 1-800-269-0271 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time

FACT CHECK OPTION 6: Call the California Attorney Gereral’s Office

Ask if they’ve received the complaint and petition and if they have opened an investigation. They can be reached at Voice: (916) 322-3360 or 1-(800) 952-5225.

FACT CHECK OPTION 7: Call the attorney leading the class action lawsuit

His name is John Tiedt and you can reach him at 951-343-3320.

Now ask yourself, why would we put all this information up for you to verify if we and other bloggers were lying?

UPDATE

FACT CHECK OPTION 8: Contact the Braille Institute

Kimmer (Heidi Diaz) has a success story up where the supposed woman is blind and met Heidi at the Braille Institute where Heidi volunteered.

Call the Braille Institute at Phone: (323) 663-1111 or email them at la@brailleinstitute.org and ask if Heidi Diaz has indeed volunteered with them or not. Hint, they’ll tell you no!

And for the record, you may wish to ask about her known aliases:

Heidi Diaz
Heidi K. Diaz
Heidi Kimberly Diaz
Heidi K Miller
Heidi Kimberly Miller
Heidi Drake (mother’s maiden name)

I contacted CASA a while back and was told that Diaz used to be a CASA but hasn’t been a part of their volunteer program in YEARS! I also called the foster care program when it was first posted that she doesn’t have foster kids and again was told she used to, but there is no record of her being a foster parent in the last three years.

Absolutely! Just realize doing so will most likely lead to your being banned immediately!

September 18, 2007 at 6:21 pm

Fatkins4Me

Well, I can confirm that the postmaster general is investigating since I reported mail fraud from the check I sent to her for the foster kids challenge!

September 18, 2007 at 6:44 pm

Do Good Today

I sent the FTC a very long and detailed letter, complete with screen captures and text that is illegal. I don’t know if that opened the investigation, but I’m sure I’m not the only one who alerted them to the Kimkins frauds!

September 18, 2007 at 6:47 pm

Kimmer Sucks!

Called FTC? yes, ongoing investigation confirmed

Called CASA? yes, Heidi Diaz not a CASA

Called Foster Care? yes, Heidi Diaz used to be a foster parent, isn’t now

Called Braille Institute? yes, they’re pissed at the claims made on Kimkins and no Heidi Diaz (or other alias) has ever volunteered with them

Called postmaster? yes, no comment about open investigations

Called SS? yes, no comment about ongoing investigations

Called attorney? no need to, I’m already part of the class action and know he’s real and the suit is in progress!

OddManOut

Yahoo the kimins ebook is out! Finally I have something to read while I go to the bathroom. #1 because it’s only a 2000 word “book”.

Congratulations! You have just received the Kimkins.com e-book! Here you will read and learn all about the original Kimkins Diet, how and why it works — and best of all, what it can do for you!

What Is the Kimkins Diet and What Makes It Superior to Other Weight Loss Plans?

Kimkins is the fastest major weight loss plan ever. Sure, we know you’ve heard claims like this before. That’s one reason we have decided to put the original Kimkins Diet in this e-book. Try it and see for yourself.

Always ask your doctor before starting this or any diet plan.

Do I Have To Take Pills Such As Appetite Suppressants or Diet Pills?

Absolutely NOT! However, do speak with your doctor about quality nutritional vitamins and mineral supplements. In this day and age of depleting soil nutrients and processing of foods, free radicals and environmental pollution, we strongly recommend supplements for everyone — dieting or not.

Will I Be Hungry?

No. The Kimkins Diet causes an effect termed “ketosis”. Ketosis is a natural body process and in simple terms means burning stored body fat for fuel.

When a person is in ketosis they often experience a sense of well being and experience little or no hunger. Ketosis is a natural appetite suppressant. Doing Kimkins a person can expect to be in ketosis in just a few short days. Symptoms normally include a copper taste in the mouth. Your breath will change as well.

Kimkins is certainly not the first low carb plan to introduce ketosis, but Kimkins offers a special advantage the other plans don’t. Motivation even before ketosis sets in by giving you what you really want in a weight loss plan. Fast results! That’s right — fast! You can expect to see a drop of up to 1 pound a day or more per day (varies from each individual) on average and sometimes even more!

Losing 5% (or more!) of your total body weight within 10 days is commonly reported by members.

Of course sometimes people who are accustomed to eating large portions may still feel hungry despite ketosis. We can help you adjust your menu and portions to suit your individual needs. Your comfort is important to us as well as to your own success.

No One Understands

Most importantly, here at Kimkins.com we know how you feel. We know the despair, humiliation and embarrassment that tend to go hand in hand with being overweight.

Maybe you have a high school reunion coming up and you want to look your best? Or perhaps the same clothes you wore last summer won’t button up today? Or maybe you saw a glimpse of yourself in a storefront window reflection and you no longer recognize that person!

Worse, recent photographs and videos often shock us. Often we don’t realize how our weight has spiraled out of control until we see the images on film.

Here at Kimkins we are made up of people who understand your situation because we’ve been there. Each and every single one of us knows what it’s like to be over weight. We are succeeding and you will too.

How Can We Make Such Claims?

Just ask our members at Kimkins.com! Our chat room is just one source of happy people who will tell you that Kimkins is highly effective and does deliver the promise of fast weight loss.

With nearly 40,000 members and rapidly growing, Kimkins.com has the support you need. Studies have shown that losing weight with a support group is far more effective than going it alone. So, come on in to Kimkins.com and start off by introducing yourself and head off to the Newbie Support forum to get started.

On the website you will find support, positive re-enforcement and helpful guidance from members and staff. These people started out just like you and they are succeeding! There’s always something interesting and fun goings on at Kimkins.com on the challenge forums, too! What could be more motivational than a group of people who are all losing with you?

And there’s more! We also offer weight loss challenges that benefit others in need — just by your success!

At certain times you will find fundraisers (optional for you to join) which help fund non profit organizations. For example, we are currently planning a challenge to benefit diabetes awareness. Plus, we have a breast cancer walk coming up in 2008.

We will be posting more about these fundraisers on our bulletin boards very soon.

Proof It Works

Want more proof that Kimkins works as promised?

How about People magazine, January 3, 2007 entitled Half Their Size? Yes, we have a weight loss success story, Mary Smith, on the cover who credits the Kimkins plan as part of her success!

And on the June 5, 2007 issue of Woman’s World magazine, we proudly feature another success story on the cover! Christin is a mom of 2 and lost 100 lbs on Kimkins in just 5 short months!

At Kimkins.com you will find many, many success stories. We hope the next one will be you!

Your Health

Even more important than your appearance is your health. Excess weight is a well known contributor to health problems and can cause a myriad of conditions including high blood pressure, high cholesterol and type 2 diabetes.

Excess weight can also be hard on the joints, can cause feet to swell and contributes to lower back problems. And let’s not forget fatigue and depression. Kimkins can help with the cure.

Understanding Why

On almost any corner there is a fast food restaurant, doughnut shops or convenient stores stocked with candy, junk food, sugary drinks, etc. Turn on the television and you’ll see plenty of promotions for unhealthy junk foods but rarely featuring an overweight host. It’s misleading, for sure.

But at Kimkins.com we can show you exactly which foods are making you over weight and unhealthy. We can also help you choose foods that will benefit your health as well as your weight.

Do I have To Buy Pre-packaged Foods?

No. Kimkins is simple. You will find everything you need at your local grocery store. Meal preparations are easy.

In fact, so easy and delicious that we have included a few sample recipes in the back of this book. Try them and see for yourself!

OK, What About Exercise? Do I have To Do It?

No. Exercise is a matter of personal choice. It is not necessary for weight loss while doing Kimkins. However, if you would like the benefits from exercising we do have an excellent exercise forum with like-minded members to encourage you.

But How Does Kimkins Work?

Kimkins is not just another low calorie plan. Nor is it just another low carb plan. Kimkins is unique. Again, we are proud to make the claim that there is no faster major weight loss plan — NONE! Come see for yourself at Kimkins.com.

Overheard on Our Boards

“I tried Atkins but it quit working for me. I tried South Beach and it didn’t work either. I even tried another low calorie diet called The Rotation diet and failed to lose anything. Then I found Kimkins and am proud to say today I have lost 112 lbs!”

Will I Gain The Weight Back Once I Hit Goal?

No. We will teach you what foods to eat to maintain your goal weight. Gradually you will be able to add more foods back into your diet until you find your own individual tolerances.

Will I Ever Be Able To Eat My Favorite Foods Again?

Yes. But, not every day or in the same quantity. Once you have reached your goal weight you will occasionally be able to treat yourself to a special food that was previously off limits during the weight loss phase.

Our maintenance plan offers a huge advantage over most plans. We allow a 5 lb span from your goal weight number. It’s a good idea to drop to the lower end of your weight loss span first, before you indulge. Then, if a certain food indulgence causes your weight to go over your comfort zone, simply return to a short round of Kimkins until the weight is back to the lower end. Normally this only takes a few days.

We recommend you keep a sharp eye on the scales and pay attention to how your clothes fit. Be vigilant and you can stay slim forever.

What Is My Goal Weight?

At Kimkins.com you will find a tool called My Virtual Model. The model is a replica of you according to your height and body structure. You can enter different weights and get an idea of what you will look like. This will help you determine your ideal weight.

Or, you may recall an earlier weight when you were most comfortable. Many already have that magic number in mind before they start Kimkins. Either way we can help you determine your goal weight.

A healthy BMI is just the beginning of the new you.

What If I Get Bored With Kimkins?

At Kimkins.com we have alternative weight loss plans that are all just as effective as the original Kimkins plan. The choice is yours! Feel free to try them all and find your own personal favorite. We even offer vegetarian choices.

My Doctor Says Lose Slower

Introducing the slower but steady plan! Kimkins can be cycled with a higher fat and higher calorie plan. Some people find they are more comfortable using this plan and can stay on target this way.

You may not get the fastest results, but you will still succeed. Just ask us how at Kimkins.com. We are here for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Favorite Simple Recipes

Ham & Egg Skillet

2 eggs, well beaten
2 oz lean ham, minced
2 mushrooms, sliced
1 green onion, minced
1 oz cheddar cheese, shredded

Spray nonstick skillet with nonstick spray. Add ham, mushrooms and onion, sauté on low until tender. Add eggs and cook until set, stirring constantly. Transfer to a warm plate, sprinkle with cheese and serve!

Beef & Broccoli Stir Fry

3 oz flank steak, well trimmed
½ cup broccoli florets, blanched or frozen thawed
2 tbsp beef broth
1 tsp lite soy sauce
¼ tsp sesame oil
½ tsp garlic minced
Salt and pepper to taste

Slice beef against the grain into 1/8 inch ribbons. Sprinkle with salt & pepper, set aside. In nonstick skillet add beef broth, soy sauce, sesame oil and garlic. Cook over low for 1 minute and then add beef. Cook quickly until no longer pink (about 2-3 minutes). Add broccoli, mix well and serve on warm plate.

And don’t forget the pancakes for breakfast either!

Cinnamon Egg White Pancakes

3 egg whites
¼ tsp cinnamon
Nonstick cooking spray, butter flavor
Davinci or Torani sugar free syrup

Beat 3 egg whites and cinnamon until stiff. Spray small saucepan with nonstick spray. Spread egg whites evenly into pan and cook on low. Once the underside is golden brown, spray top of egg with nonstick spray, flip and repeat for other side.

We use sugar free syrups on these tasty pancakes. Davinci or Torani syrups are delicious on these and in coffee or meal replacement shakes, too. These syrups are available at Walmart stores in the coffee isle. We also recommend I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter, Fat Free for these pancakes.

We hope you have enjoyed reading your e-book brought to you as a courtesy of Kimkins.com.

Down with Kimkins!

This e-book clearly is not written by Heidi! I am aghast at all the grammatical and spelling errors. HD is too narcissistic to ever produce this travesty of “literature”.

From being at LCF for more than five years now, I can safely say that Tippy wrote this. Just look at some of her past posts and it becomes apparent that this is her writing style.

Also, I believe that if Kimmer wrote this she would have mentioned her favourite term, “The Domino Effect”.

Seriously ladies, and I use the term looslely, pack it in already. You have lost!!!

Kimkins Members Attack Child on Kimkins Forum

7 09 2007

In an update following the dangerous advice to the 14 year old girl within the Kimkins website (clearly contrary to Heidi Diaz’s claim that teens are not allowed in her site), the teen posted that she’s doing better, eating more calories and seeking advice for health outside the Kimkins site. In what can only be described as a viscious attack on this child, members were quick to reply with the following, and keep in mind these are adults replying to a child,

OSusana: Glad you lost the weight on KIMKINS…. You didn’t LOSE iT eating bananas and bread, peanut butter and oatmeal…
You lost it following Kimkins…. Good for you…
We are here to lose weight just like you did…. DOING KIMKINS…. why on EARTH would we want to break away and go eat bananas
and all the other carbs that made us fat….?

Surley you jest…. pffftttt…

.o.. go eat your peanut butter and banana sandwiches….

Another adult, who appears to know this is a child, replies,

this topic you created called its NOT over…. we ADULTS know how to eat well and HOW to encorportate other types of food back in our lives in moderation, we also know how to see our medical doctor for any concerns and we adults know how to take our multi-vitamins daily.. It’s NOT about the food, its about how you live your LIFE. I am happy that you lost the weight and then created a plan that is good for YOU.

Kimmers way of eating has saved thousands if not millions of lives and WE LOVE KIMMER and protect her from people like YOU.

so please go about your merry way and take your ass on!

The thread has since been deleted, but email verifications of its existence and all posts made remain. Amazing how adults treated this child, isn’t it?

Kim

How could anybody do this to a child? Let alone a child who is obviously reaching out for help. My guess is, the 14 year old probably got banned too.

September 7, 2007 at 4:22 pm

kkatastrophediet

Yes and apparently I was banned over this thread for informing the obnoxious posters that it was a 14 year old–rethink your posts.
I also told the girl Congrats and she should start her own blog, with permission of course.
Definitely a reason to be banned from a site I PAID FOR. Thread’s gone but I have screen shots, so, it’s not forgotten…

“Kimmers way of eating has saved thousands if not millions of lives and WE LOVE KIMMER and protect her from people like YOU.”

I’d like to see the statistics to back that claim. After they’re finished genuflecting.

September 7, 2007 at 4:26 pm

kkatastrophediet

And, another thing–the posters claimed not to know it was a 14 year old, and that she should let someone know. How about we do two things:
1) Don’t allow minors to remain members by refunding their money and blocking them AND
2) You posters (you know who you are) should not speak to anyone that way–what makes you think it is okay if it is a grown up? Open mouth insert FOOT.

My comment is THIS!

I made the comment to the poster, not knowing she was a 14 year old… HOW would anyone know that?

and Don’t you dare chastize me about how a person should address another adult on this issue… You all created this heat…at LCF
I have been to the LCF and read the horrible way peolpe over there referred to the people on the Kimkins web site…

We were “brainwashed” idiots who were drinking “the kool aid”
nice huh?

These are Outrageous statements, and there were many, many more..

My comments to this so called 14 year old were justified… after SHE made comments about how she lost the weight successfully while ON Kimkins,

and then turned around urging everyone to get out while we can… and then wondering if she would get banned because of it??

I was defending the web site and the plan…it works…she just admitted that!
And you bet, there are a lot of people on edge at that web site…so of course we will defend it, and since there was no way of knowing she was 14 we defended it as though she were any other of the adult moles in there spying stealing peoples posts, and spreading BAD AIR, and urging people to defect.

I simply told her to go eat her peanut butter and banana sandwiches, after SHE JUST GOT DONE BRAGGING in that very post that was WHAT SHE WAS eating! although not in that order…

I am so SICK of seeing half truths about this diet.
WE DON”T CARE ABOUT KIMMER…..we are there to lose weight, can’t you GET that?
I don’t want to have coffee with her, or see if she pays her taxes.

many of you have NOT even done the plan, so how would you know?
and most of you ignore the fact, that this plan WORKS!!!

and you ignore the fact that many did not join the web site to sit with kimmer…whomever she is…. WE DON’T CARE!!!

The web site is “us” the people who enjoy being there!
We have formed a wonderful community there, it is the people on the web site that make the web site what is is … not Kimmer..

Now that it is invaded by LCF worms it is very hard to be there anymore.
and that is sad…

Let me ask you this… when you joined LCF…did you join it for TOM? or for the community support?
I joined LCF for the support and when I joined I didn’t even know WHO Tom was …nor did I care.

I’m beginning to care tho’ because of the blood thirsty lynch mob his site has spawned… what is going on there, is no better than what kimkins is being accused of… ruthlessness on both sides..its sick!

I have read posts on LCF stating how horrible the Kimkins site is because of her deleting posts and banning people, and reading PM’s

ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? SERIOUSLY????
I think she learned how to do that FROM LCF. What a joke!
WHAT A JOKE! Are you all forgetting something??
LCF was the forerunner of Kimkins… she got good training.

It’s time LCF looks in its own back yard and cleans it up, before it goes any further launching vendettas against someone else!

I am leaving Kimkins… Not because of anything that the community there has done…
but because of the underhanded deviousness that LCF has allowed to happen there.. when I post something and then see it elsewhere and only with half the truth, then I consider that deviousness, and just outrageous…

when you have to go STEALING peoples posts and twist them to your own way of thinking, or not state the whole truth, wellll… then something is just messed up!

Don’t have enough ammunition for your hate vendetta?… OK go dig some up and twist it your way… NICE!

as FOR THE 14 YEAR OLD…I AM SORRY TO HAVE OFFENDED HER… not my intent to a 14 year old… that is NOT who I am.
But she wrote what she wrote…and are you all saying a 14 year old can’t think abnd write what she feels because she is 14?… hogwash!
I knew what I was doing at that age. 14 year olds are NOT stupid!

Stop looking for excuses to fly your evil plane… stop using a 14 year old to keep your hate crusade going .
Get over it!

You need to know I am not defending Kimmer…. I am defending my post over there, and the GOOd people on that web site!

Thank you for stopping by. You’ve spectacularly shown the world exactly the type of person you are. Bravo!

You are so very welcome!…
perhaps I have shown the world that there are 2 sides to every story… and exposing, and explaining, something that is misleading is the RIGHT thing to do!

The “Sensationalism” in this headline is VERY misleading, It reads like a rag sheet ……like the National Enquirer….
NO ONE “ATTACKED A CHILD” tell the WHOLE true story… (yeah right)!

It was Kimmer’s responsibility to block her access, per her stated “policy” as soon as she knew she was a teen. Instead she advised her she didn’t need anymore calories, KNOWING FULL WELL it was a teen. You don’t care who Kimmer is? Many members don’t. What does that say? There are MANY good people on that website, and thanks to the fact that I tried to let you and others know it was a 14 year old girl, in a non-confrontational way, I might add, I WAS BANNED. Were you? I was on that site for a year, and it is an awesome place for support. Unfortunately it is also a place where teens are told to not eat more (true, whether you want to admit it or not), where people are manipulated (you’ve seen Becky’s blog, right?) and where the owner is involved in shady business practices. If you are not defending Kimmer, does it really matter what address is on your screen and where your support comes from? No, if you’re not defending Kimmer, it shouldn’t.

Good thing you don’t ‘CARE ABOUT KIMMER’ cause apparently Kimmer don’t care about you. Don’t believe me? Go read Becky’s latest!

Hi Osuzana,

Just wanted to let you know that I posted your comments at ALC, not LCF. I posted the whole thing. I didn’t twist it. How was it “half truth”? They were your words.

I find it hard to believe that you didn’t know that she is 14 because she has been a topic of much discussion on this blog and lcf for the last few weeks. But even giving you the benefit of the doubt that you didn’t know she is 14, there is no excuse for that type of post directed at anyone. It was rude, period. But really, it was typical for you.

I have done kimkins. I have experienced the negative side effects that have been discussed here and elsewhere. I will continue to shine the light on the inside goings on of kimkins.com until that site no longer exists.

September 9, 2007 at 1:31 am

mariasol

How would you NOT know that she was 14? She had her pics in her signature (the same ones that have been posted all over the internet by now) AND there is that little button under her name that shows her birthdate when you click on it. This girl never hid her age on the board.

September 9, 2007 at 1:45 am

Karen

So, Osuzana…you don’t care that Kimmer sells her website and her diet plan based on her own success with it….even though that success has been proved to be a lie?? Have you read the blogs about Kimmer? Do you see all her lies? The lies she has been telling for years? And that honestly doesn’t bother you???
I really can’t understand that mindset.

Kimkins Dangers

So.. you’re all so close over there, such a great bonded community, so tight knit and loving and all that.. but you didn’t know that regular poster (who WE all knew) was a teen? Riiiiiiight.

osuzana freaks out: “We were “brainwashed” idiots who were drinking “the kool aid”
nice huh?”

That’s “brainwashed idiots who were drinking the SUGAR-FREE Kool-Aid,” hun.

Diet Coke flavored. That way it’s even allowed during extended periods of fasting and laxative abuse.

Again I maintain WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU? Every kimmeroonie supporter is so angry and ugly when posting. Sorry that some of us found fault in the way you spoke to the teen. Let me make it easier on you, I don’t care if you were talking to a kid or adult your post was juvenile! Go eat your peanut buter sandwich? That’s so stupid. You sound like the fat kid at the playground picking on all the other fat kids.

We, the people who actually care about people haven’t even made those fat joke comments to your leader as we have all been there done that at some time.

Why is it ok for you to make ugly comments like that?

Because you are just as bad as her. You don’t care about anyone but yourself, and you don’t care about anything but the diet working.

Well punkin I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again….the diet does work, so does crank, heroin and tape worms but no one is touting useing those are they? DUH! Of course if you stop eating and drink only water or diet coke you’ll lose weight a retarded monkey could have figured that out. What you need to understand is you are doing damage to your metabolism.

But don’t think about that now. And when you are 40 yrs old and you can’t lose all the weight you will gain back let’s see who’s hurling fat jokes then ok? Sheesh!

Hello my friends :) ;)

BBB & California Medical Board

7 09 2007

Heidi Diaz received a complaint from the BBB recently and in responding, as requested by the BBB, she also established her business presence within their website.

From the BBB website we learn the following about Kimkins:

DBA: Kimkins
Address: 529 North McKinley Street 104-309
Corona, CA 92879
Primary Phone: (951) 258-3976 » Other
Primary Contact: Heidi Diaz,Owner

Website: http://www.kimkins.com
Company ID: 100055868
Business Start Date: 4/22/2006

This verifies that Heidi Diaz is the owner of the website and that the McKinley Street address (shown in the slamboard surveillance) is indeed her mailbox address for the company mail.

What is truly distrurbing about her listing within the BBB directory is her categorization of her company as within Physicians and Surgeons: Medical Weight Reduction. With no known medical professionals on staff, this is a blatant misrepresentation of her company, and implies medical suprevision that does not exist, thus we believe she’s now established cause for practicing medicine without a license in the state of California.

If you have not done so, please take some time to Write a Review for Kimkins where provided by the BBB. If you feel you have been defrauded, misled or abused in any way by the company, please File a Complaint where provided on the BBB site.

You can also call the California Medical Board to report her classification under Physicians and Surgeons: Medical Weight Reduction with the BBB so they are also aware of her deceptive business practices.

The California Medical Board phone number, for complaints, is toll-free: 800-633-2322

You may access their website here.

Don’t forget to mention is states on her website the diet is “perfect for all diabetics.”

Thank you, Ducky. Truly sorry to have clogged your blog with my recent flurry of rants. I tend to get just a tiny bit overenthusiastic about worthy causes sometimes! :)

(Please feel free to delete this or any other of my hyperactive comments :)

Kim

I feel so much better you guys! Yesterday there were no surveys on her company, now there are something like 7 pages. We all know the 5 star replies are Heidi herself, but yeah for us! Maybe this will at least stop some people from joining.

Heidi hasn’t replied to my rebuttal and I’m not so sure she will, but I’ll keep watching and see. Again, Kimmerexia is right, this will not shut her down, but hopefully it will make some think twice and the complaints filed can be used by the AG during their investigation. If we keep plugging away at the resources available to us, something will happen. She’s only one person…we have how many???

September 7, 2007 at 4:12 pm

Kimmerexia

Kim, I’ve even filed my own lenghty review myself as well just now.

But the overall ranking still currently sits at TWO stars. Gotta get it down to the minimum ONE star!

September 7, 2007 at 4:48 pm

Kim

I knew you could do it Kimmerexia! Thanks! You’re right, we have to get it down to one star. I noticed too that when I initially filed my complaint her “grade” was a C, but just in her responding to my complaint and filling out her info, she was upgraded to a BB. Hopefully with more complaints that will drop back down…below a C would be awesome!

It’s a start at least.

September 7, 2007 at 7:35 pm

Kimmerexia

Kimmer is now directly prompting her loyal members to post positive reviews at the BBB site:

Kimmer posts link to BBB review site and sez: “”Nobody loves us.”

Which solicits replies from the minions:

“Oh my God, Kimmer that’s horrible…I’ll write one right now”

“There are more of us than of them, we’ll fix this”

Then…

Kimmer sez: “So who all is going to the BBB to post some reviews?”

September 7, 2007 at 7:51 pm

Kim

LMAO – she couldn’t think of anymore names to post her own reviews anymore or what???

I just hope that on top of the reviews, those that have been banned without refunds have also filed complaints. Those complaints can’t be countered by anyone but Heidi and what leg does she have to stand on when she’s not refunding the money, but not providing the lifetime memberships either.

September 8, 2007 at 1:02 am

Mimi

Kim, that’s an important point for everyone to keep in mind — the REVIEWS are not the same thing as the COMPLAINTS.

The Reviews MIGHT certainly help prevent more people being lured to this dangerous diet.

The Complaints WILL affect Kimkins’ business ratings and MIGHT help in furthering the ongoing investigation.

If you personally have been defrauded, decieved, verbally/emotionally abused by and/or harmed by Heidi/Kimmer/Kimkins diet/Kimkins.com AND/OR if you have not received a full refund and the promised Kimkins e-book, AND/OR if you are a family member, spouse, or caretaker/guardian of someone who fits any of these criteria, please put your keyboard where your mouth is (uh … not literally! :) and file a COMPLAINT.

The rest of us can post REVIEWS.

That link again for both Complaints and Reviews is:

September 8, 2007 at 4:30 pm

Kim

Right Mimi. And I’d like to point out that her reviews are now rated at 3 stars because of her post onto her site to solicit good reviews so the complaints need to be filed, they can only be answered by Heidi herself. Just my one complaint she contradicted herself on, so imagine if she gets more, she’ll really be talking out of both sides of her mouth. It takes just a few minutes and is super easy on the web.

I think she’s starting to feel the pressure.

Kimkins Imploding from Within

5 09 2007

Members are slowly coming to realize the deception.

A member wrote:
I just read on Christin’s blog that she had health problems from the woe.   She told everyone she was given a clean bill of health.  I guess that ws after she was treated for the problems?

Another just replied:
Im not sure if it was Christin that said she got a clean bill of health or those were Kimmers words.
Nevertheless the truth is coming out about this plan.
Of course we all want to lose weight
Of course we want to lose it fast
But long term damage to your health wasnt listed as one of the side effects when i signed up
Of course your going to lose weight only eating 500 calories a day ….duh
The real Kimmer needs to show herself as she is not who she says she is
She had her stomach stapled many moons ago to lose weight
And has since regained it all plus some
they’ve found out the truth
Stay tuned to the news and magazines…….

How Ironic

When, not if, Christin leaves Kimkins, she’ll be a cake decorator!

Christin’s Defiance!

30 08 2007

The comments section of Becky’s recent post, Interesting Times, is quite revealing as to the disagreement with Kimmer (Heidi Diaz). Of note, Becky said in her comments,

As has been said elsewhere, I did not see eye-to-eye on everything. I have been told I have an incompatible view of Kimkins than just does not mesh. So be it.

From all of Kimmer’s posts, it is generally understood that her perspective about how to lose weight is fixed in stone and no deviation is allowed, otherwise you might as well do Atkins. This morning we’ve received a number of comments not to post, but to provide information that lead us to believe that Kimkins is crumbling from within. If anyone doubts this, they only need to look at how Christin is openly defying Kimmer in her replies today to members asking for help.

On the Ask Kimmer thread, Christin today wrote:

Everyone has to find their own balance. I understand the rush for whatever gets the weight off fastest. But, you also have to make sure that you’re taking care of your body as well. Kimmer’s fat might be higher than yours or lower than the next person because each person is different. You need to make sure that you are encorporating a healthy balance of good fats / lean proteins and enough veggies to give you some good nutrients and taking your vitamins every day. Really listen to your body and if you need to up your fat and calories a little it’s ok. But only eat when you are truly hungry and only till satisfcation. Don’t force yourself to the low cals. This will only get you discouraged and frustrated w/ your plan.

I did use K/E but I also encorporated a mix of Kimkins as well so I didn’t totally shun the vegetables. Veggies are good for you! )
Let’s face it, we didn’t get heavy by eating salad and broccoli, asparagus and tomatoes… it was the white carbs that did it to us! P So don’t be afraid of the veggies…. KE is good for getting into Ketosis fast and getting that initial loss going… But get some veggies too! ;)

This is so outside of Kimmer’s repeated reduce this, eliminate that, stop eating this, don’t eat that scolding that it’s remarkable to see. It seems Christin is indeed coming to her senses and it won’t be long until she herself departs or Kimmer (Heidi Diaz) locks her out like Becky!

Let’s hope Christin wakes up and hits the road. Hopefully Becky will share with her her feelings about this. Christin is continuing to give out information that is based on her ideas. She really needs to know the science behind
lowcarbing and quote Dr. Atkins or Dr. Groves. It’s like giving out a prescription without any background. Food is medicine. This is true, especially if you are diabetic.

She’s smartening up. Bad advice can be deadly and I’m sure Christin doesn’t want to hurt anyone parroting Kimmer’s advice, so she’s going to say what is a better option and healthier. It won’t be long until Kimmer locks her out. Guaranteed. No one gets away with crossing that woman.

Christin is giving advice that directly contradicts everything that Kimmer says!! So it seems she might actually be “getting” the dangers involved? But if that’s the case…why is she continuing to work for this woman???

Christin has always had a conscience! What kind of PR/business move would it be to ban your cover girl and PR person? Christin will leave of her own accord; I have faith!

The Tangled Web at Kimkins

28 08 2007

Kimkins Dangers reported the recent departure of long-term staff member Becky (Littlebit) yesterday, whose introductory biography disappeared from the ‘Meet Your Team’ page over the weekend. The disappearing act followed two weeks of silence from Becky on the site, no new posts and no replies to member queries.

Yesterday it was apparent, even without any word from the site management, that Becky was no longer associated with Kimkins. Her blog was scrubbed of all affiliate links, her Daily Plate was locked and almost all references to Kimkins removed from posts on her blog.

One question remained unanswered, why did Becky leave Kimkins?

Yesterday, when a thread appeared in the Kimkins Cafe forum asking if Littlebit was okay, Christin explained,

“Kimmer said that Becky (Littlebit) is taking a break and starting a family business, but we hope that she’ll be back to post soon!”

Dissatisfied with that reply some members pushed for the ‘real reason’ Becky left, and late last night Kimmer (Heidi Diaz) stepped up to answer, after confirming that Becky was paid staff, Kimmer went on to say,

“She and I had differences about how the website should be run. She was concerned that her comments as a moderator could leave her vulnerable to liability of some sort. She requested to be removed as moderator a few days ago, although she stopped posting and answering emails several weeks ago.”

Keen eyes noticed within minutes that reply was edited, removing the hint of Becky’s concern over liability, and a member called Kimmer on the revision,

“Kimmer, you above post originally had this sentence in it:
She was concerned that her comments as a moderator could leave her vulnerable to liability of some sort.

But then you removed it!! I think Becky is concerned about the low calorie and low fat aspect of kimkins and that’s why she left.”

To which Kimmer replied curtly,

“You’re right. She is concerned about being legal liability.”

A member pressed on,

“So what did she tell you was her concern?”

Keep in mind, this member has paid Kimmer for her membership as have others within the site. Members paid subscriptions pay the salaries of those on staff and without members no one would be paid. So, members do indeed have a right to ask questions of those they are paying! Yet, Kimmer shut down the member with one short sentence,

“To be honest, you’re bordering on rude.”

Other members and paid moderators swiftly stepped in to defend Kimmer and effectively shut down any continuation of the discussion along the lines of legal liabilites, literally attacking the member who dared to ask questions.

At this point, this morning, the thread is filling with ‘feel good’ let’s all be nice to each other and remain positive type posts.

One critical question must be asked, in Becky’s departure, who lied to members?

Christin initially stepped up to say Becky left to start a new family business. She stated this was what Kimmer told her. Kimmer however candidly offered up the explanation that Becky was concerned about her vulnerability as a paid staff member, thus resigned her position to avoid potential legal liability, with no hint of starting a business or anything else as part of her reason for leaving.

So, did Christin lie to members by offering a benign reason to explain Becky’s departure, even though she was aware of the real reason, or did Kimmer initially lie to Christin who simply repeated the lie she was first told?

If Christin simply repeated what she was told, how does she now feel knowing she was lied to, and then left lying to members with Kimmer’s made-up excuse to her?

If Christin did know the real reason and simply put forward something that sounded better than the truth, how do members feel being lied to?

How do members within Kimkins feel about one of the two, or both Kimmer and Christin lying to them when they’ve paid for a membership subscription, and as such deserve to know what’s happening?

We have now heard, but not verified yet, that Becky was actually banned from the site.

As with other people who “left” but were actually banned, the kimkins site administrator left their profiles visible with post count, etc, to make it “appear” as though they were online from time to time.

A lot of people are suggesting that those who are “rocking the boat” and asking the wrong questions might be moles…..My thoughts….those who are so vehement in their ass-kissing to Kimmer, they’re the moles! A mole isn’t going to rock the proverbial boat, but someone like OSusana or Vernswifevickie – they’re so far up Kimmer’s butt, she couldn’t see if they were moles or not! Not saying those two are, but a mole is usually someone who really tries hard to portray loyalty and isn’t going to jeopardize their access by rocking the boat is all I’m saying!

So typically Kimmer!

Gotta keep the “Negative Nancies” from saying anything, no negativity ladies….you won’t lose weight if you’re negative! As if concern, questions or the like is going to hinder weight loss. How unreal!

If I were Christin and Kimmer lied to me and I then wound up lying to the members, I’d be royally pissed. If Christin willfully lied for Kimmer and I was a member, I’d be royally pissed.

Notably, Cutie last “logged” into her kimkins account on July 15 but we know Cutie was banned back in April. So there’s evidence of Kimmer faking log ins of banned members.

Low Carb Friends Considers Moving Kimkins to “Other Plans”

27 08 2007

In what seems like a move that defies everything the admins at Low Carb Friends has said about the Kimkins diet prominence in the Weight Loss Plans section, they’ve opened a poll with the following message from the Admin (Tom):

Although there are a lot of members discussing the Kimkins diet plan here on LCF, we want to get a feel for how many people are actually following the plan as defined by Kimmer vs. a modified version of it.

If it turns out that few people are following the official plan, we will consider dissolving the Kimkins forum threads back into the “Other Plans” forum, yet still welcome discussion about the plan there.

Please respond to this poll about your experience with the Kimkins diet plan. If you have never followed the Kimkins plan or a close variation, please do not respond to the poll.

Thank you.

The poll options include:

I follow the Kimkins plan exactly as defined by Kimmer
I follow a modified version of the Kimkins plan
I used to follow the Kimkins plan, but no longer do

If you want to see the Kimkins plan removed from the top five diets in the Weight Loss section, vote now with either “modified version” or “no longer do” the plan option!

I am hopeful this will happen because I don’t think anyone really does this plan as stated at LCF’s…Most tweak with Atkins OR refeeds OR add more fat..whatever..

It should be interesting, huh?

They’re just trying to cover their butts now! They bitched, moaned and complained at anyone who suggested they remove Kimkins from the top spots, claiming that enough people did Kimkins to justify the position. Then it comes out they’re advertising to bring in Kimkinistas to their “free” site so they can up sell them Netrition stuff. Now today Kimmer is busted for lying about being a CASA and the court rep wants info from anyone who sent her money for the kids. That’s rich! Now all of a sudden LCF is thinking of moving position? CYA….nothing more than that.

My thoughts exactly, cleo.

It will be interesting to see just how far and fast LCF will be running from Kimkins when some poor soul loses their life from this diet, or when the full truth about Kimmers comes out.

It’s clearly not an IF regarding the dangers of Kimkins… with so many close calls already now… it seems very likely that someone may already have died.

August 27, 2007 at 10:40 pm

I want to reply that I did kimkins and am still suffering the effects of it and that I wonder why today, of all days, Tom grew a semblance of a conscience.

(as if everyone doesn’t know why.)

I’m beginning to even resent the members who post at that mercenary site, knowing they’re enabling him rather than holding his feet to the fire. Some don’t realize it, but some should know better, and there are two other good places to go that deserve our support. (ALC in particular has been great about allowing members to voice their reasonable opinions and not squelching the truth about dangers of Kimkins.)

lovinlowcarb

We can probably count on one hand (maybe two) the number of people “actually” doing Kimkins.

Most are modifying it all to pieces with Atkins cycling, upping fats & calories, adding fruit or other “Kimkin no-no’s” and even some are doing full blown carb “refeeds.”

All good stuff…but none of it “Kimkins.”

So why must those members insist on clinging to the label of “Kimkins” and why give people the impression that “Kimkins must be a good plan” if it rates having it’s own forum on the largest low carb community site?

If I was LCF, I’d definitely move those threads into “other plans” and quit promoting “Kimkins” as a plan “worthy” of its own forum…it’s not.

August 28, 2007 at 4:30 am

moo

lol cleo

I think they should have defined what “kimkins as defined by kimmer” is.

i.e “original kimkins”, “PBTB” etc.

I mean so many of them say they’re doing kimkins and adamantly defend it (can you say fluffybear), but don’t comprehend ITS NOT kimkins if you tweak it.

I think the first poster to the thread makes the point.

August 28, 2007 at 2:46 pm

concerned

I also think that it needs to be stated that maybe if LCF had not enabled Kimmer/Kimkins, perhaps the “Kimmer-stein” monster would never even have developed.

This situtation didn’t happen overnight, and as much as we would like to think that it is all because of “Kimmer’s magical/charismatic powers/lies”, alot of people who should have known better had to be “lookin’ the other way”…

Happy Kimkins Loser

So many of us are doing really well on Kimkins…….our doctors are happy, our blood work is good, we feel great, nothing else has worked for us…
DUH! The weight is coming off when it DIDN’T on other low carb diets (I’m one who has “low carbed” for years without much weight loss) and for the first time, I’m down 42 pounds!

Kimkins works……and some people, like me, do very well on it and come out healthier by far than when they started it.

Please be fair. We are NOT all alike, as you know. If I had not found Kimkins, I would be “low carbing” without weight loss still.

Kimmer not CASA

27 08 2007

For quite some time now, the page with information detailing biographies of the Kimkins staff has been available to anyone visiting the site. The biography for Kimmer (Heidi Diaz) states:

Kimmer lost an amazing 198 pounds in 11 months and shared her simple secret with thousands of overweight people in various internet forums for over 5 years. In March 2006 Kimkins.com was born to facilitate spreading the word that there’s a faster way to lose weight than with traditional diets. Kimmer personally answers weight loss questions from members in the “Kimkins Cafe” forum. She earned a graduate degree in Public Administration and serves as a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for abused children.

Last week, Kimkins Dangers reported that Kimmer may not be a CASA, when they posted about information received that included “I think it’s also noteworthy that Heidi is still claiming to be a C.A.S.A. volunteer for the Riverside County courts system — but according to an administrative contact who remembers her, Heidi was a volunteer “several years ago”

Today, Kimkins Dangers has verified that Kimmer (Heidi Diaz) is not a CASA and has not been for quite some time.

They included contact information for “anyone [who] has any information as to monies sent to Kimmer for foster children (address where checks were sent, paypal account names, check endorsements [who signed the check and cashed it?]) and any other relevant info, please contact Barbara [Riverside CASA] here:

One Week, One Day, Teen Advised to go to Mother & Doctor

24 08 2007

It took one week and one day, but finally, today, an adult member of the Kimkins site set aside the risk of being banned with no refund and did the right thing, she advised the teenager being cheered by other members, site administrators and Kimmer (Heidi Diaz) herself:

I am just worried about the low calories and extreme low fat for you at your age. I have a daughter who is 14, too, and I (and our doctor) would not want her to eat such a low calorie and low fat diet. I hope you will take the diet to your mother, father, and/or doctor and go over it with them. You need to be monitored by a doctor when you are so young and losing so much weight. You also might want to consider losing the rest of this weight more slowly and with more fat and calories.

I did not like people to tell me what to do when I was 14–I still don’t! And no one wants to have someone rain on their parade, but, but, but, I would not be able to live with myself if all I did was congratulate you on your success in self-control without pointing out the risks and suggesting that you involve your parents and doctor. Your self-control and maturity could be exercised just as well on an appropriate diet for a young woman your age.

Courage!

It takes just one person with the courage to stand up and do the right thing!

Ducky applauds you!

Kimkins Trickle Down Theory of Weight Loss

24 08 2007

With Kimmer a tad busy, it seems members are jumping in to offer advice to each other. This might be a good thing if the starvation concepts advanced by Kimmer didn’t seep down deep into those following the diet.

A member recently asked for help on the Ask Kimmer thread:

…stayed on the diet for five days and not lost a pound so I gave up. Hard to stick to something that is not working for me….eveny just a 1/2 pound would have been nice. My fit day is public so if anyone wants to look at it, feel free. I hope someone can help and maybe I will feel excited about starting again. Thanks to anyone who will try…

After someone suggested a public fitday to review, the member complied, and sure enough, other members were at the ready to give advice.

Before we look at the advice, the member’s fitday clearly shows that

8/13
518 calories
13 grams carbohydrate

8/14
938 calories
16 grams carbohydrate

8/15
608 calories
18 grams carbohydrate

8/16
488 calories
19 grams carbohydrate

8/17
254 calories
6 grams carbohydrate

Guess what advice they received?

You use a lot of cream – this might satisfy your coffee with cream in the morning – it does mine!

Please review the veggies you’re eating with the Kimkins Grocery list. When I started I counted the carbs and stayed under 20 per day – I now stay under 10 per day.

Hope this helps!

The plan works – now you have to work the plan.

Then there was this gem:

I’m not Kimmer either but and no where near my goal but your veggies are too high. You can only have 2 cups of the list one and 1 cup of list two or 3 cups of list one. You show you’ve gone over on most days. Also, no regular creamer if that’s the kind you’re using. Drizz has good advice too. Also, there were a couple of days you didn’t list…..so not sure if you went over on those days or just didn’t write stuff down. Beef also stalls me terribly, which is a shame because I love beef and can only tolerate the rest of the choice.

If you go back to the food list and really follow it, I think you’ll find you’ll do just great. Please hang in there, you are so worth it!

Notice no one said anything about the erratic and very low calorie intake? With a five day calorie average hovering around 500 calories, the problem is too many vegetables and cream, even though this member is remaining within the 20 grams of carbohydrate supposedly allowed on the diet?

Yes, what we see here is the trickle down theory of Kimkins weight loss advice.

This is the insanity that is Kimkins. First it was Kimmer giving this type of dangerous advice, now it’s those who took her advice and ran with it giving it to others.
